What Happens if I Drive Without Auto Insurance in Texas

Texas law requires "the motorist or operator of a vehicle to provide evidence of financial responsibility".

What is financial responsibility? Plain and simple, auto insurance proves financial responsibility.

If you receive a ticket for no insurance, you have opened up a can of worms that may take months to resolve.  You are subject to a fine of up to $350 plus other fees and possibly court costs. Repeat offenders may face fines of $1,000 and suspension of your drivers license.

Your may have to file an SR-22 form.  Not all insurance companies file SR-22's, however, All Write Insurance does specialize in filing these forms.

When a policeman stops you, it's normally for another offense, speeding, running a red light, defective equipment on your vehicle.  That only compounds your problem by increasing your fine.  The cost to renew your drivers license can increase.

Trying to save money in the short term by not carrying auto insurance can cost you thousands of dollars in the long run.  Do yourself a favor, obey the law and carry insurance on your vehicle. There are no free lunches.

If you are in need of an SR-22 or are currently driving without insurance, we are here to help! Call our office at 806-763-2886 or begin your car insurance/SR-22 quote today.
